Mulberry March

It's my Mulberry March season and the four fashion items I am so loving this season are:

Look at this, just got this. Isn't it just cute? Makes my boots stand out well good.

As luck would have it, this second Mulberry bag has just been on the runway and I can't stop thinking of buying it too.

So then this one comes in from my cousin who's just bought this. It would be good for work and I see if I can get my daddy to buy this one for me (I'm expectant at this point).

But if the Mulberry handbag is out of your price reach, maybe you should consider this last item on my top 4 Mulberry list. It's under £200 and adds that colour zing to your day.

Party Friday v3

I was looking for a new hot sexy dress for my ultra glam black suede heels when I saw these. As you all know me, I went crazy eyed at these hot dresses.

I have placed an order and cannot wait for the delivery.

First of all blue is one of my favourite colours and lace is so very chic and trendy right now.

So as my lovely BF is out of town this weekend, Party Friday is back on with the girls. My second champagne this week and some beautiful food and wine in a stunning setting.

Trendy Tuesday v3

2012 starts with Trendy Tuesday.

With so much choice it would be interesting to see what unique fashion remains. I know there will be lots of unique fashion and I guess the search start now to secure the best for the new season.

Rihanna in her new video - You da one - showed off her stunning new hairstyle and I feel the trend charts are going to go big with this one. I love the video and the new hair.

So my next stop is Nude nail polish. I've always loved them and I think they add a touch of class and sophistication to today's mordern diva. And to show you what I mean, take a look at Riri's nude nails.

My Christmas jacket

Christmas for this fashionista would not be superb without a good fashion statement piece. And as you already know from my previous blogs how tirelessly desperately I was trying to find a jacket that makes me feel great.

This one certainly found me in the least place I was expecting to; having looked at jackets from all price spectrums, it was refreshing to know that I could buy this without worrying about all the cash I have already spent on Christmas and Christmas presents.

Even better, it was a surprise when my gorgeous BF insisted on paying for it amongst a load of other hot dresses I'd picked up from the rail!

My surprise Christmas jacket is definitely living up it's cool status. Oh but this fashionista is already on to her next jacket seeing that I didn't have to buy the £400 Jaeger one, it's a massive saving just picking these bad boys for under £50 each.

So let's roll in the next hot purchase! Drums rolling

The problem here with this one is that it has already sold out! How is that possible?

Was I not looking hard enough?

So please if you find this available in a size 10 or Medium before I do, please ping me a comment.

Happy Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little Expedition finding a coat

It feels like forever since I posted anything and it feels way longer than just over a month - I have my smiley face on now.

Winter is already here and I fancied buying a new coat but I was not expecting it to be so hard finding one. Especially when I went shopping safe in the knowledge that I had it covered from already prying online.

The first coat which I featured here a few weeks ago did not turn out to be what I expected it to be.

Then I looked at some other coats from MaxMara, Mint Velvet, COS, etc and could not settle on anything at all. In the end, I found this coat from Jaeger but still not convinced.

It's the Jaeger Short Cambridge Coat.

I am still holding out for the perfect camel coat this winter and the only thing letting me down is the fact that my F Cup boobs are inappropriate for the high street. Perhaps I should go for something a little more bespoke and expensive.

Until then my search still goes on.

What Is My Fashion Personality

Today I decided to write an article about fashion personalities.

From time to time I like to browse fashion sites and take a survey to see whether they got me down to a T. So recently I decided to check out what www.stylistpick.com was all about. I can definitely say the site is not bad at all.

The results were accurate based a set of questions asked and my response to those questions. As you can see from the picture above of the my results, those of you who already know me can say they got it right.

I would love to know your results so go to www.stylistpick.com and come back and show us.

Shopping Saturday v3

Fashionably Warm does not have to break the bank. Yet it does not necessarily mean you have to buy a worthless piece of coat.

This Biba coat caught my eye on the www.houseoffraser.co.uk website.

It looks beautifully made but without the $1000 price tag. The camel colour makes a coat classy but it is the beautiful fur around the neck that gives it the diva status.

Another coat I have kept my keen eye on is the House of Fraser Linea coat below. It is great for casual to formal at the same time keeping it simple.

And guess what?

It is on SALE! I know I know. I never would have gone to the sale but now I can.

How? I just do not have to go to the shops at sale time - all I have to do is log on online and I would still benefit from the fantastic price tags. My bff analysed the situation the other day by saying I hate the sales because of all the crowds trying to buy the same thing. It may be true.

Question is: should I buy the Linea coat because it is on a good price or should I follow my eyes to the path it leads to the Biba coat?

Are Biba coats any good?

Then there was one which got away and it's this one...how gorge is this?

Brian Atwood

WOW-O-WOW!!!

A friend of mine was running around the other day about these shoes she'd seen at a party. My first thought was - do not covet after someone else's stuff. But then she kept going on and on and on. I simply asked her to send me a pic off the internet if she can find it.

Most of you already know that I just can't keep away from shoes. It's simple. Everyone has their addiction one way or the other.

The object of my desire today is two words: Brian Atwood. These say 'marilyn1diva' in a very loud voice.

I am smitten and my purse is coming with me. Someone call the taxi quick!

These shoes are made for walking.

Staying Fashionable While Moving Home

As most of you already know I am moving home and it's particularly a stressful time for me because of all the projects I have going on at the same time.

So the other day I was thinking - how does a 'marilyn1diva' girl stay fashionable while moving home in the winter months??

And the answer was quite simple.

Very often it is easy to under estimate the power of the accessory and especially when covered up to maintain the warmth. I couldn't look far because for some reason I feel short sighted with my deadlines. The perfect accessory had to be a super trendy scarf or snood.

And really, shelling the money for an expensive one is really not necesary.

An example is this one I found on www.riverisland.com

2011/2012 Hair Colour Trend

It's October already.

The leaves are beginning to fall gradually, making it a lot easier for us to ease into Fall with grace. What better time than to be well on trend with some beautiful hair colours out on offer.

I took the challenge and bagged myself a winner. My BF was thrilled and simply can't stop telling me how amazing my hair looks. And while I am still working on getting that dSLR camera, I'll just have to show you some winning picks from the internet.

Here are some of my favourites and if I had to name each one of them, they'll go something like this:

Damn! She brought it!

Fashion statement looking good

Don't be messing with my hair

I am the star of the show

Bed hair just got spicy

The Beehive Hairstyle

So as you know, the beehive hairstyle is back. And I've never been a keen fan.

But in the interest of not killing the spirit, I've been asked to write my views about it. In order to come up with some unique and fresh intake on this, I had to surf the net.

So for the true 'marilyn1diva' girl who is ultra glam and ultra sophisticated, here are my top beehives.

So at number 5

The Suno Show autumn/winter 2011

I like this beehive because it looks unique. It's smart enough for an evening updo event yet stylish enough to wear with a silk blouse and a pair of skinny jeans.

At number 4

You've got to love Audrey Hepburn even if we were too young to fully understand the true nature of her beauty. We can only admire her from her photos. So why is she my number four on the beehive hair scale? Audrey's beehive image is a unique look that can only be worn by someone very alike Audrey.

So at number 3

The gorgeous Rihanna. With hair like flame, you can only turn hot dudes your way. She looks hot and sexy and the hair colour does make a huge difference to this beehive. I hate to say it, but on a joking note, looks like the beehive's on fire!

So on a more serious note, here is my number 2

Awww, that smile, that skin and that hair. Beyonce is certainly the most beautiful woman in the world. She wears the beehive with grace.

I love love love this beehive because it has the 'marilyn1diva' signature of approval yet it is not as crazy as some of 2011 beehives. Personally, it's my number one but it didn't make it because...

Here's number 1

JLo won our 'marilyn1diva' signature beehive. Stunning is the word!

This is the kind of beehive you get when you shell out the frankies.

I love this beehive because the colour is beautiful. It's the most beautiful beehive I've seen.

Trendy Tuesday v2

So it's Trendy Tuesday again for September! Where has the year gone. I woke up and I was dreaming of writing a fashion blog this year and September is already almost gone?

In August, I blogged about a dress I found on asos.com and totally loved it but wasn't sure whether it was age appropriate.

For those of you who missed out on checking out the blog see

For September Trendy Tuesday, I have a different idea. So let's get started.

Last night I was browsing the web for a dress to wear to me and my boyfriend's one year anniversary and then I found some amazing dresses on mango.com

For those of you who know me, you'll know how obsessed I am about dresses. I'm always buying them and my wardrobe is full of sexy dresses.

It's insane that I have a new dress hanging in my wardrobe with the tags still on but my boobs won't simply fit so I'm looking to loose weight so I can gracefully zip it up without upsetting these puppies.

So please help me choose otherwise I'll end up buying both. They are so gorgeous!

Fashion is Art

It was very nice to be invited to a Kinari Art event, in an elegant and beautiful private home in Kensington London, by my good friend Adam Fenikowski.

I almost did not make it because of a business commitment outside of London which meant I had to make a two and half hour journey each way to Sheffield. It was refreshing that my gorge boyfriend came to meet me at St Pancras because by that point I was dead beat and ready to fall. But he kept assuring me that I still looked lovely. I was wearing a Sandra Darren dress, which he bought me as a gift for which I have received so many compliments, and a pair of black suede platform pumps.

A short taxi ride from Kensington High Street station ensured we got to the venue just before 9pm.

Once inside, it made total sense why the property was on sale for 15 million great brittish pounds. It was tastefully designed and decorated, from the cream plush carpets to the tastefully selected silk blinds and curtains to the unique pieces of furniture stylishly thrown around the 5 storey property.

Anyway, the purpose of attending the private art viewing was not for the property. It was to support my good friend Adam Fenikowski.

Adam is a truly gifted and talented artist whose art is unique and refreshing. From some of my favourites which I'd seen on his website http://www.adamfenikowski.com to ones show yesterday like the Banana Beauty Contest to the Geometry of the Mind series, the Vivaldi Primevara to the one my boyfriend loves, the Rendezvous With Firewater.

Simply stunning!

Orange Wednesday v2

So people it's film night! Yei!!!

Can't wait to see my lovely gorgeous BF later for film night and I know the perfect outfit. It's a silk playsuit with long sleeve frills and I just need to find the perfect shoes to match.

Wish I had a photograph but still waiting for delivery of my sony Alpha lens pro camera. So in the meantime BF will have to take a pic for me with my Blackberry so I can show you how sexy this is.

So while surfing the web I found these Sarah Harding was wearing and they look fantastic. I predict there is yet a time to come when classy playsuit will be in the running with the little black dress.

Beyonce VMA 2011

Finally!!! The amazing news everyone has been waiting for is here.

At the 2011 MTV VMAs beyonce showed her beautiful bump to the whole world. I was watching the show for the main reason that B was going to perform.

But when she came on to perform, fully clothed, no skin showing, I thought huh that's very odd. She must be pregnant.

I'm sure all fans will be truly pleased and delighted to here the amazing news everyone has been waiting for.

Congratulation B and Jay-Z.

Shopping Saturday v2

So loving this River Island 70s look for Fall 2011.

Culottes are super sexy this season if you have the figure to show it off. They can be dressed up for a fun evening after work. I personally will steer clear of the black ones for this season as colour is fun and culottes are a fun way of introducing colour in your wardrobe without feeling awkward.

Another trend I see in shops recently is the boxy blouse. Comes fresh in hot pinks and oranges from H&M but I also found this one from River Island today.

Pair this up with a pair of black or white smart leg trousers with a bit of satin in them for that chic look. Can be worn to work, you just need the right accessories. For an evening look, find some chunky beads with some glitz in one or some of the bids to draw light to your face. Always keep a button undone for the evening.

But for me, I'm loving the kimono boxy blouse in cream.

But seeing that a diva cannot be without a few other options while shopping, I've decided to team up the following while I try to find the perfect top among my wardrobe.

Party Friday v2

So as you all know, it's Friday already and I am looking forward to the weekend.

To put me in the zone I've been searching for trendy nail polish for the fall. Summer is already gone so soon in London and I hope this fall will not be full on or boring. Just so you know I don't find the fall boring in any way but just saying it leads to winter.

So I saw this Black and White nail tips and wondered where I'd seen these before (pic above).

Then I remembered this was not a new surprise. I had my version done in Edgeware road, London, about 4 years ago! I had the black tips only applied to the ends and it looked amazing. Simply stunning! I must say my nail stylist Lisa found it a challenge and didn't like it but we got there in the end.

So then I saw these navy lacquared nails suggested for fall 2011 and unfortunately it's still not working for me cos I've seen a lot of people with this for summer already. A change is always a good thing.

Then came the nudes which I rocked all of Q1 and Q2 this year, still crazy about it but I'd like something different now.

So right now at least I've still got 7 hours to go and an option of going for the nude. But I also love the deep blue voilets or the golden nudes.

Well, now this I saw and surprise surprise I want to try this. So I'm heading off to Selfridges to find me something in this colour range. If you find something better, tweet me and I'll be sure to feature in the next fashion blog.

Latest trending Fall/Winter Hair 2011/2012

As some of you already know, I am always looking for the latest trending fashion news and accessories, tips and advice. And one of my passions is my hair. So before the start of any season, I always look for either fun playful hairstyles or classy sassy ones for an updo.

This fall I am seriously drawn to some hairstyles I need your input on. So have a look and tell me what you think.

The Ponytail:

We all know we cannot avoid the versatility of the Ponytail. So why not make it fun. Here are some ideas used on the catwalk that are simple enough to incorporate in your usual choice.

Prada

Gucci

Old Hollywood:

This style is perfect for flirty fun events and in my opinion an upgrade to the ponytail style.

I particularly love the dark hair tresses of this one, it's sexy yet stylish.

Dolce & Gabbana

Carolina Herrera

The Braids:

I have always admired the braided look but it always makes me look 10 years younger. I am often mistaken for a teenager at times. So for the girls that can rock this look, don't skimp. ROCK IT OUT!!!

What's So Special About Red-Soled Shoes

I was reading this story on Forbes by Raquel Laneri who knows her stuff and I just love reading her blogs.

What caught my eye to the story apart from the fact that Raquel Laneri was writing about one of my fave shoe designers, was the educative element of her story.

For instance when it was mentioned that in Western societies, red has long served as a symbol of ferocity and power, worn by soldiers, monarchs, etc

French shoemaker Christian Louboutin — known for his sexy stilettos and his trademark scarlet soles — is planning to appeal a New York Court decision that gives rival company Yves Saint Laurent permission to continue producing its own red-soled shoes. The ruling means that other shoe companies — from Jimmy Choo to Payless — could start producing their own red-bottomed shoes, diluting Louboutin’s brand and signature. Some online commentators have wondered why Louboutin and others are so crazy about red soles. Can’t YSL find another color? Can’t Louboutin get over himself? Why is this even an issue?

Some context: Louboutin has painted the soles of his shoes red since 1992, when he first swiped some bright nail polish on a pair for the hell of it. Soon - thanks to a devoted celebrity clientele and a prominent role in the Sex and the City film - the red sole became inextricably linked with Louboutin's name. He trademarked it in 2008.

For Louboutin, red symbolizes sex and sensuality - and serves as a crafty, subtle branding tool.

Shopping Saturday

I went shopping today with my cousin in Westfield and I must say, lingerie is still the sexiest thing a woman can buy for herself.

Reger by Janet Reger is a brand that's new to me but oh boy oh boy I must say, that I am already sold!

I was like ding ding ding!

I could not resist the temptation of the well made beautiful frilly things so I went home with a couple.

The other picture from the collection is awful, I mean the model's body did not do it any justice so I decided not to post the picture here.

Watch this space, I might decide to model it myself seeing as I look stunning in it.

When we buy underwear, we should be asking ourselves why we make the choices we make and is there a choice we've always wanted to try but always walked past it?

Stop! Doing the things you really want to do that bring you ultimate happiness are the ones that enhance confidence.

For me, my choices reflect me as sophisticated, classy, sexy, playful, happy and without the road kill.
